MULTI LEVEL CABLE BUS SYSTEM WITH MODULAR CABLE TRAYS

A cable bus system for the mounting and positioning of high amperature, fromlow tohigh voltage electrical power cables transmitting polyphase electricalcurrent. The cable bussystem included a ventilated enclosure used to protect electrical cablesmounted therein. Theenclosure is provided with multiple modular cable trays which are boltedtogether in a stackedarrangement to form a single multi-level cable raceway. The enclosure isfurther provide withventilated top and bottom covers which are secured respectively to the top andbottom of theuppermost and bottommost calve trays to define the enclosed metal circuit. Thecable bussystem is capable of transmitting the same highest allowable "free air" cableamperature inboth above and underground installations, effectively improving thetransmission of electricalpower from one end to the other end in installations where a transition ofelectrical powerfrom on e ground is either necessary or economically preferable. For theundergroundportion, the cable bus is installed in the encasement that is uniquely offsetvented or powercooled to meet the cable high amperage requirements. This cable bus system isalso suitablefor high vertical rise installations when utilizing anti cable slip mechanismor technique.
