Provided are a rice brown planthopper resistance gene Bph30 and a molecular marker closely linked thereto. The nucleotide sequence of the rice brown planthopper resistance gene Bph30 is represented by SEQ ID No. 1, and the cDNA sequence thereof is represented by SEQ ID No. 2. A molecular marker S7 is closely linked to the brown planthopper resistance gene Bph30, and can be used for screening brown-planthopper-resistant rice varieties containing the Bph30 gene. By means of genetic transformation and hybridization, the Bph30 gene is transferred into common rice varieties, thereby improving the resistance of rice to brown planthopper.
