The present invention provides a novel means for promoting equol production in human intestines or a novel means for amelioration of premenstrual syndrome, which is related to such equol production, and for improving skin condition changes associated with aging or ill-condition of the skin. The equol production promotor according to the present invention contains yeast mannan as an active ingredient. The premenstrual syndrome improving drug and the skin condition improving drug according to the present invention contain said equol production promotor (yeast mannan). The food composition and beverage composition according to the present invention for promoting equol production, for improving premenstrual syndrome, or for improving skin condition respectively contain the aforementioned equol production promotor, the premenstrual syndrome improving drug, or the skin condition improving drug.
