The invention relates to the design and manufacture of a portable device that can be taken apart, forming a microscope for observing liquid media according to a principle of frugal innovation. The device comprises a hollow housing (4) delimiting an internal space in which are disposed a continuous flow observation chamber (48) intended for the passage of a liquid sample to be observed, a device for illuminating the observation chamber, an optical device for magnifying the sample (451), and a device (46) for focusing the observed sample, as well as means for continuously conveying liquid samples from a reservoir of liquid medium, said conveying means advantageously comprising a pump system providing the circulation of liquid sample towards said observation chamber.
