The purpose of this invention is to provide a chromosomal abnormality identification device capable of using chromosome color information for chromosome inspection. To provide such a device, a chromosome data storage device is made to have a database comprising feature information, which includes image data for a spectral feature value image obtained through spectral analysis of the spectrums of light that has passed through a dyed chromosome and feature values obtained through image analysis of the spectral feature value image, and information indicating feature information and whether a chromosome having the feature information is normal. The spectrums of light that has passed through a dyed chromosome to be subjected to identification are acquired for each point on the chromosome as spectral cube data (step S11). Feature information is extracted from the spectral cube data (steps S12, S13). An abnormality in the chromosome to be subjected to identification is identified on the basis of the extracted feature information and the feature information stored in the database (step S14).
