The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for supporting antiviral activity comprising ionophore as an active ingredient. Specifically, salinomycin according to the present invention exhibits antiviral activity by inhibiting endosomal acidification and M2 proton channel activity in influenza virus-infected cell lines. Also, monensin and nigericin, other polyether ionophores, exhibit antiviral activity in infected cell lines. In addition, since salinomycin significantly increases the antiviral effect of OSV against influenza virus and OSV resistant influenza virus, polyether ionophores comprising salinomycin, monensin, and nigericin can be usefully used as an adjuvant for preventing or treating viral diseases.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
