The present invention relates to an electric brake apparatus of a subminiature electric vehicle, in which a motor is installed in a brake hinge portion to boost brake force by the power of the motor, and an operating method thereof. The electric brake apparatus of the subminiature electric vehicle according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a brake pedal; a motor which is mounted on a portion of the brake pedal and generates rotating force to increase a pedal force when a driver steps on the brake pedal; a master cylinder generating hydraulic pressure corresponding to the rotating force; a wheel cylinder which transfers the hydraulic pressure generated by the master cylinder to a brake main body including a brake pad generating friction force; and a controller which calculates the force exerted on the brake pad using prestored vehicle information when the driver steps on the brake pedal and controls operation of the motor according to a calculation result.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
