The present invention relates to a virtual drone design implementation system using automatic recognition of a drone shape, to automatically recognize a drone in a stadium and the like and provide precise location information, and a method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the system comprises: an image acquisition unit for acquiring an image including space and the drone in real-time; a drone shape recognition unit for recognizing the drone shape from the image acquired by the image acquisition unit; a drone state estimation unit estimating posture and location in accordance with movement of the recognized drone; and a drone display unit selecting one of a plurality of drone designs previously stored corresponding to the location and posture of the drone estimated by the drone state estimation unit to display the selected drone design in virtual space. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the drone state estimation unit can estimate the state of the drone through at least one among a sensor attached to the drone, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), a plurality of infrared cameras, and a plurality of infrared markers. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the virtual space can implement a LiDAR- or camera-based precise 3D digital model. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the system additionally comprises a location correction unit displaying a plurality of reference points in a location, which becomes a background of the image, by the GNSS and comparing the corresponding reference point in the modeled virtual space to correct the location data.
