Suggested are a method of controlling a CNG bi-fuel vehicle when a fuel tank pressure sensor is not installed, and a vehicle is operated thereby. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method, which is used to control a CNG bi-fuel vehicle equipped with a CNG fuel tank without a pressure sensor for fuel amount detection when a fuel tank pressure sensor is not installed, includes: a data storage step (a) of storing CNG fuel rail pressure data and fuel injection time data in real time; and a fuel shortage detection step (b) of determining the current situation as a fuel shortage situation if a length of time in which fuel rail pressure is less than a preset threshold value exceeds a preset length of time, a length of time required for fuel injection exceeds a preset length of time and a fuel injection time variation exceeds a preset value based on the data obtained from the data storage step. According to the present invention, provided is a method of controlling a CNG bi-fuel vehicle when a fuel tank pressure sensor is not installed, which includes composition for enabling CNG fuel to be effectively used.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
