Pneumatic drive (PD) having main pneumatic cylinder (MPC) with piston dividing MPC cavity into left and right cavities, with gear rack fixed on piston, with output shaft (OS), and gear wheel; movable parts position sensor; a multi-position control device at the end of the OS and a disc with trapezoidal cutouts (TC), the number of which is equal to the number of angular positions (AP) of the OS with the disc; an angular position sensor of the disc with TC on the MPC housing; first and second stoppers with tapered ends driven by pneumatic cylinders interacting with TC on the disc for fixation in preset angular position. PD control system comprises: pneumatic line with air pressure source, with pressure sensor; two two-way pneumatic valve (PV) with electromagnetic control (EMC) position of piston MPC and two two-position PV with EMC, control position of stops relative to TC disc; electronic control unit (ECU) of electromagnets receiving signals from disk position sensor and air pressure sensor in pneumatic line. Method of controlling PD using a system in which air is supplied to one of MPC chambers by determining current AP of disc with TC and position of stops relative to TC of disc, setting direction and value of target AP TC of disc relative to stops, setting the value of the current AP disc with TC, sending control signals to the EMC for outputting the stops from the TC disc and in the EMC PV MPC for turning the disc by the value of the given current angle of 0.5–0.8 of the value of the target AP disc, switching the ECU to PWM control of EMC PV MPC, turning the disc to the specified target angle, determining its position using the AP disk sensor; after achieving a given target AP disc, dehydration of MPC cavities is performed. Signals from the ECU to the EMC PV are transmitted to control the position of the pistons of the PC for insertion of the stops into the opposite TC discs.;EFFECT: invention discloses a pneumatic drive, a system and a method of controlling a pneumatic drive.;3 cl, 7 dwg
