Methods and devices for controlling or reducing the amount of downdraft generated by a drone are presented. A drone including multiple booms including rotors may be configured to operate and fly with the booms in a raised position relative to a horizontal plane. The raised booms can allow a drone to fly with reduced vertical downdraft.
