Matching device for standing log splitters, can be retrofitted to almost any standing log splitter or vertical splitter, for the production of very small logs, also called matches or kindling, with a frame and a split grating arranged therein, which is formed from at least two cutting edges, characterized in that the split grating is designed such that it has opening cross-sections which become increasingly larger between the individual cutting edges from an upper side of the split grate, on which a log to be split is fed, to the underside of the split grid.
