A bonnet apparatus for a vehicle has a bonnet 12 and a bonnet spoiler 14, vertically positionable above bonnet 12 to form an airflow duct 22 between the bonnet and the bonnet spoiler. Bonnet spoiler 14 has a trailing edge between leading and trailing edges of bonnet 12, and airflow duct 22 is defined by channel walls that converge from a leading edge of bonnet spoiler 14 to a choke point then diverge to the trailing edge of the bonnet spoiler. The channel walls may diverge from the trailing edge of bonnet spoiler 14 to define an open-topped air channel 44 on bonnet 12. The bonnet apparatus may be an integral component or alternatively may be formed by integral components that each integrally comprise a portion of bonnet 12 and bonnet spoiler 14; one of which may be integral with a vehicle bumper. A vehicle with such a bonnet apparatus is also provided.
