The present invention concerns, in particular, a method for producing a security document (1) comprising a sheet (2) of fibrous material, of which at least one of the large opposing surfaces (20, 21) is covered with a protective film (4), characterised by the fact that it comprises the following steps that consist of: a/ covering said large surface (20, 21) of said sheet (2) with a first thermoadhesive (3); b/ covering one of the faces of said protective film (4) with a second thermoadhesive (5); the first thermoadhesive (3) and the second thermoadhesive (5) being different and being chosen from the group consisting of a thermoplastic thermoadhesive and an ultraviolet-crosslinkable thermoadhesive; c/ affixing said film (4) onto said sheet (2) in such a way that the first thermoadhesive (3) and the second thermoadhesive (5) come into contact; d/ heat treating the sheet (2) + film (4) assembly from step c/ until said thermoadhesives (3, 5) soften; e/ exposing the sheet (2) + film (4) assembly from step c/ to ultraviolet radiation, triggering the crosslinking of said crosslinkable thermoadhesive (5).
