A critical analysis of the financial operations of the Military Sea Transport Service under the Navy Industrial Fund.

TT.e Military Sea Transportation Service is one of thelargest activities financed by an industrial fund. Itsoperations under the Navy Industrial Fund have been creditedwith millions of dollars of savings annually. The accountingtheories and concepts underlying the M3TS accountingsystem are discussed and their contributions to fundaccounting n^ted. The objectives of the Navy Indus trialFund as they pertain to MSTS are developed. Financial dataare analyzed and conclusions drawn based on the ability ofthe Military Sea Transportation Service to meet its statedobjectives.
