Mendeley, dal social bookmarking al reference management: uno strumento innovativo per la gestione delle citazioni bibliografiche

Mendeley is a free-of-cost cross-platform Reference Management System. Available since 2008, it stands the comparison with more famous tools like Zotero or EndNote. This article shows its main features, which include an innovative and integrated handling system for pdf files, and a social approach to the web scientific communities providing collaborative tools for sharing and discovering research papers. Mendeley is a tool which can be exploited both by individuals and by library institutions to publish and manage shared lists of bibliographic references.
