Delfi3 Debugger: Notes on the Implementation

The knowledge engineering environment Delfi3 is a general purpose environment forthe development of large and complex knowledge-based systems. Its knowledge representation language, LORE, combines the representation formalisms of frames, production rules and logic programming. In addition, advanced techniques such as strong typing, multiple inheritance and modularization are supported. The Delfi3 environment consists of a compiler, a linker, a maker and an interpreter for this representation language. Thusfar Delfi3 lacked a run-time debugger, which sometimes made life hard for application programmers. For this reason, a run-time debugger has been developed that allows the application programmer to take a close look at the interpretation process.
