Initial Submission: A Cutaneous Carcinogenicity Study with Mice on the Diglycidyl Ether of 1,4-Butane Diol with Cover Letter dated 10/16/1992

The carcinogenic potential of diglycidyl ether of 1,4-butane diol was assessed in CF1 mice by dermal application of 0.05 and 0.2% w/v in acetone for up to 103 weeks. No statistically significant increase in dermal neoplasms was noted in treated animals. However, females treated with 0.2% were at a higher risk for developing lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma. A similar finding was not seen in males.
