摘要

Four different fungi were isolated from infected leaves of three clones of willow(Salix) aimed to be used in short-rotation biomass forestry. The fungi included the molds Cladosporium cladosporioides and Botrytis cinerea and the yeasts Aureobasidium pullulans and Rhodotorula glutinis. The host selectivity of the fungi between the Salix clones depended on the competition between the fungi and the composition of primary alcohols on the plant surfaces. Further, a correlation was detected between the fungal production of cutinase (PNB-esterase), the host selectivity of the fungi and the composition of primary alcohols. All of the fungi were able to use cutin as a sole carbon source when grown on mineral agar. The fungi also produced cutin-hydrolyzing enzymes in cultures containing cutin as a carbon source. The cutin-induced cutinases (PNB-esterases) produced by the molds were different from the cutinases of the yeasts in their ability to tolerate high temperatures, to hydrolyze different model substrates (esters) and in their molecular weights.
