摘要

During the fall of 1992, the National Eldercare Institute on Elder Abuse andState Long Term Care Ombudsman Services, conducted a nationwide survey of training and technical assistance needs related to elder abuse. Two populations were surveyed through similar instruments. Administrators of State Units on Aging and the three state programs most regularly involved with elder abuse victims (Adult Protective Services; State Long Term Care Ombudsmen; and Legal Services Developers) and 'Related professionals.' Two panels of experts were then convened to look at the results and make recommendations for their use. The larger panel met in person to look at the overall findings, paying particular attention to the training needs of the audiences identified as 'priority' by survey respondents. A small panel met by teleconference to address issues of particular concern to minorities. The report contains a summary of the results of these efforts.
