The proceedings of the Symposium on Modern Trends in Contemporary Chemistry heldat Islamabad, Pakistan, March 6-8, 1990 are presented. Fifty-five technical presentations and six reviews are included. The technical papers cover topics in instrumental analysis, extraction, complexation, adsorption, and separation techniques, and organic, organometallic, and metallocarbon chemistry. The review papers deal with heterogeneous electron transfer kinetics, macroreticular ion exchange resins, spectrochemical analytical techniques, liquid crystal materials for high technology applications, and advanced ceramic materials.
