This report summarizes research conducted by the Office of Personnel Management to document the criterion-related validity and fairness of the examination for Group 6 of the Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) program. Employees who were hired into the GS-1890 series, the customs inspector occupation, in the United States Customs Service within the Department of the Treasury, provided data for this study. A predictive validity strategy was employed in which the applicants' performance on the examination was correlated with a measure of training success after they were hired.
