The correct conversion factor should include an additional factor which is the211u001eratio of the acidification concentration to the total recoverable concentration. 211u001eThis factor when multiplied by the ratio of the dissolved concentration to the 211u001eacidification concentration will result in the correct conversion factor. The 211u001ecurrent factors are only the ratio of the dissolved concentration to the 211u001eacidification concentration. Acidification to total recoverable factors (A/T 211u001eFactors) can be calculated from the data provided in the document. Separate A/T 211u001efactors can be calculated for each combination of dilution water, food and metal 211u001ecombination, and the appropriate factor used to calculate final adjustment 211u001efactors for each test. An appropriate procedure that would follow the Aquatic 211u001eLife Criteria Guideline Committee's recommendation for a time-weighted average 211u001ewould be to calculate the dissolved to acidification ratio for each species/test 211u001ecombination (i.e., test-specific conversion factor).
