VSMOKE: A Forestry Smoke Dispersion Algorithm with GIS Interface

VSMOKE, a Fortran 77-based model, was developed to estimate downwind smokeconcentrations and visibility impact from a prescribed fire. As a Gaussian plume dispersion model with a crossplume sightline visibility model, VSMOKE is a modularity designed algorithm that can become a component within a more extensive family of computer models. VSMKGS and VSMOKE-GIS are two members of this family that allow the user to plan one or more prescribed fires and view the resulting smoke concentration patterns.
