Smart Software-Simple Hardware Concept for Maximum Flexibility in Research Flight211 Simulation

Flight simulation can be divided in two main areas: Flight simulation for211u001etraining air crews and flight simulation for research purposes. In this paper an 211u001eoverview of research flight simulation specific technology is illustrated by some 211u001eexamples from the Research Flight Simulator (RFS) of the National Aerospace 211u001eLaboratory NLR. From these examples, a common characteristic feature is presented 211u001ewhich can serve as a guideline for research flight simulation technology.
