Cooperative Studies with Penned Deer. Husbandry of Experimental Animals in theNorthern Lower Peninsula

This Job Final Report documents work completed during Segment 15 for a job thatwas funded as part of Project W-127-R through Segment 14. Work with captive deer at the Houghton Lake Wildlife Research Area was phased out during this segment. Seven bucks born in 1994 completed their third and final year of XP9607: 'Another Development in Yearling Bucks as an Indicator of Future Development'. The antlers of these deer were measured, removed, weighed and stored for subsequent 'dry weight' measurements 60 days after removal. One manuscript was prepared for publication, and a bibliography of publications originating from work conducted with captive deer at or near the Houghton Lake Wildife Research Area is appended.
