The document describes the Westinghouse Science & Technology Center (WSTC) Phase 2 results for the program entitled 'Mixed Waste Processing System for Asbestos Decontamination: Phase 2 Bench-Scale Integration Testing'. This project will be referred to as the Asbestos Decontamination Project. This Final Topical Report is organized into the following sections: Section 2 provides a brief technical summary of the Asbestos Decontamination Project. Section 3 outlines the overall Phase 2 objectives and tasks performed. It also provides perspective on the different types of experimentation performed in the Phase 2 program and how the data relate to the overall process development effort. Section 4 summarizes the Phase 2 results and conclusions. Section 5 details the ACM washing tests performed on two samples of contaminated ACM materials. Section 6 describes the solution treatment testing performed, ion exchange solution treatment tests, chemical regeneration tests and electrochemical regeneration tests. Section 7 discusses the development of a commercial process design.
