The purpose of the study is to crash test and evaluate new or modified roadside211u001esafety hardware and, where necessary, redesign the devices to improve their 211u001eimpact performance. The three major areas addressed in the study are the impact 211u001eperformance of bridge railings, transitions from guardrails to bridge railings, 211u001eand end treatments for guardrails and median barriers.
