Airport Surface Operations Safety Action Plan, 1998: To Reduce Runway Incursions211 and Improve Operations

This 1998 Action Plan represents a systemwide, multifaceted strategy to reduce211u001eincidents and accidents directly attributable to runway incursions and improve 211u001eairport surface operations. It identifies goals, objectives, and actions that 211u001eaddress management and procedural changes; improvements in airport navigation 211u001eaids, signs and surface markings; technology-based efforts; and increased 211u001eincursion awareness efforts. The plan is in direct support of the FAA 211u001eAdministrator's goal to reduce runway incursions by 15 percent of the 1997 level 211u001eby the year 2000.
