This Guide is designed to help public officials and citizens understand what211u001eactivities are eligible to be assisted under the Community Development Block 211u001eGrant (CDBG) Entitlement Program and to guide them in making wise choices among 211u001ecertain alternatives available within the program for carrying out particular 211u001eactivities. While the statute, as amplified by the reglations, provides the 211u001eauthoritative version of program requirements, this Guide: Organizes eligibility 211u001erequirements in a more accessible and understandable format; Provides additional 211u001eexplanatory materials, including examples; Provides guidance on the factors to be 211u001econsidered in selecting among alternative categories of eligibility and national 211u001eobjectives, where applicable; and Provides guidance on accessing additional CDBG 211u001eresources that may be available to a community.
