Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading Systems in the Gulf of Mexico:Proceedings of a Workshop. Held in Houstin, Texas on April 16, 1997

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) and the industry consortium DeepStar held aworkshop on April 16, 1997, to discuss issues relevant to the potential use of floating production storage and offloading systems (FPSO's) in the development of deepwater areas of the Gulf of Mexico. The one-day workshop provided a forum for MMS and industry to discuss issues and concerns, and to identify information sources that can be used to define FPSO operations. Mr. Paul Hays, DeepStar Project Manager, provided the welcoming address and used the opportunity to explain some basic information about DeepStar organization, budget levels, and initiatives. He also summarized the workshop agenda (Appendix 1) by introducing the presenters and panelists. The panel discussion was noted as an opportunity for discussion of questions that were compiled from those offered by preregistered attendees at the workshop, and issues that were raised during the workshop.
