This report is one of a series of reports prepared as part of a recent study211u001esponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) aimed at updating the 211u001estate-of-the-art of the design, construction, maintenance, and rehabiilitation of 211u001eCRC pavements. The scope of work of the FHWA study included the following: (1) 211u001eConduct of a literature review and prepare for an annotated bibliography on CRC 211u001epavements and CRC overlays; (2) Conduct a field investigatiion and laboratory 211u001etesting related to 25 existing inservice pavement sections. This was done to 211u001eevaluate the effect of various design features on CRC pavement performance, to 211u001eidentify any design or construction related problems, and to recommend procedures 211u001eto improve CRC pavement technology; (3) Evaluation of the effectivenes of various 211u001emaintenance and rehabilitation strategies for CRC pavements; Preparation of a 211u001eSummary Report on the current state of the practice for CRC pavements. This 211u001ereport is volume V in the series and presents the results related to CRC pavement 211u001edistress and procedures for repair of CRC pavements. Because the most troublesome 211u001eproblems with CRC pavements are punchout distresses and distresses associated 211u001ewith steel rupture, more emphasis is placed on repairs of these distresses.
