The Office of Management and Systems is the business arm of the Food and Drug211u001eAdministration. OMS consists of five major components concentrating on the cost 211u001eefficient and effective management of 'people, money, things, planning, and 211u001esystems.' OMS is are an organization of 583 employees, serving the Agency's 8,999 211u001eemployees nationwide. The OMS team, as the authors are referred to, includes the 211u001eOffice of the Deputy Commissioner and his immediate staff, including the 211u001eAssociate Commissioner for Strategic Management; the Office of Human Resources 211u001eand Management Services; the Office of Financial Management; the Office of 211u001eFacilties, Acquisitions, and Central Services; the Office of Planning and 211u001eEvaluation; and the Office of Information Resources Management. OMS is an 211u001eintegral part of the top FDA management team and provide leadership, guidance, 211u001eand solutions to a wide and varied number of management and resource issues 211u001efacing the FDA. OMS is a customer-focused organization, supporting the management 211u001eof the Agency's resources in a collaborative, coordinated, and cost effective 211u001efashion.
