Nonlinear 3D Inversion of Crosswell Electrode Logging Data

In this paper we discuss the reconstruction of the conductivity in a three-211u001edimensional domain between two boreholes. The electric current density integral 211u001eequation will be taken as point of departure. This vector integral equation leads 211u001eto substantially better result than inversion based on the scalar integral 211u001eequation for the electric potential. We will use a nonlinear inversion scheme 211u001ebased on a new method, the so-called Contrast Source Inversion method (CSI), 211u001erecently introduced by Van den Berg and Kleinman (1997).
