Yielding Cable Bolt: Pull-Out Tests

Laboratory pull-out tests described in this report are part of the Development of211u001ecable bolting research project. The aim of the project is to develop a yielding 211u001ecable bolt, which can withstand large deformations of a rock mass. The aim of the 211u001epull-out tests was to test the applicability of a yielding cable bolt achieved by 211u001edebonding the surface of a wire strand. Three different debonding materials: 211u001eparaffin, silicon and lubricating oil, were tested on the surfaces of the wire 211u001estrands. Each debonding material was spread on the surfaces of three wire 211u001estrands. Three wire strands were left without any treatment as reference test 211u001ewire strands.
