National Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Architectural Coatings.Background for Promulgated Standards (Architectural Coating Background Information Document)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) received a total of 243 letterscommenting on the proposed standards and the background information document (BID) for the proposed standards. The EPA held a public hearing on July 30, 1996 in Durham, North Carolina, at which 19 commenters presented oral comments. In addition, the EPA held a public meeting on August 13, 1996 in Rosemont, Illinois, in which 77 persons participated. At this public meeting, 18 manufacturers provided company profiles. Some commenters provided more than one comment letter or commented at the public hearing or meeting.
