Pu(2) Monopoles and a Conjecture of Marino, Moore and Peradze

The purpose of this note is to show that some of the recent results of Marino,211u001eMoore, and Peradze (18), (17) can be understood in a simple and direct way via a 211u001emechanism pointed out in (7), (4), using the PU(2)-monopole cobordism of 211u001ePidstrigach and Tyurin (21).
