The project investigates the impacts of access management treatments on211u001epedestrians and bicyclists, primarily on arterial streets. The project identifies 211u001econflicts, accident and safety issues involving pedestrians and bicycles, 211u001eassociated with access management treatments, impacted groups of pedestrians and 211u001ebicyclists. The project is an extension of a major access management project that 211u001eis currently being conducted by Oregon Department of Transportation and the 211u001eTransportation Research Institute at Oregon State University. The ODOT project is 211u001edeveloping statues, policies and guidelines for Access Management for the State 211u001eof Oregon. The project also suggests recommendations for solution strategies to 211u001eresolve or mitigate for these conflicts.
