Local healthcare information management professionals were invited to attend adaylong conference on the topic of Meeting the Challenge of Managing Healthcare Information. Speakers and panelists presented views and perspectives and audience participated in dialogue on strategies and investments and best practices for managing healthcare information and technology. Discussions focused on current levels of information technology and information management strategies and future directions. The attendees agreed to the future value and future benefits of continued discussion on this topic and would like to see more focus on cost/benefit analysis of strategies, practical guidelines, models from other industries, specific strategies implemented to handle information technology issues.
