Drug Court Activity Update: Summary Information on All Programs and Detailed Information on Adult Drug Courts.

The report reflects self reported information provided by 372 of the 420 adult family drug court programs which were in operation as of January 1, 2001. This information has been compiled by the OJP Drug Court Clearinghouse and Technical Assistance Project as of June 1, 2001 and, in most cases, has not been independently validated. Retention rate, as used in this report, is defined as the total number of current enrollees plus the total number of graduates divided by the total number of persons ever enrolled. Recidivism, as used in this report, is defined as new arrests and/or new convictions following the participants entry into the drug court program. Because programs vary in terms of the length of time during which recidivism data is collected and the sources of information used to compile recidivism data, this data is not comparable from program to program and these numbers cannot be interpreted as national recidivism data.
