Report to the U.S. Congress on Export Credit Competition and the Export-Import Bank of the United States for the Period January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005

The 2005 Competitiveness Report provides a comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) in its medium- and long-term programs during calendar year 2005. This evaluation is based on information gathered from a variety of sources, including a survey of, and focus group discussions with, exporters and lenders. The assessment also uses data from sources such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the G-7 export credit agencies (ECAs), and selected non-OECD export credit agencies in reaching its conclusions. The format and content has changed slightly from previous reports. This years report is divided into three parts. As in the past few years, it retains the grading of the Banks core programs and policies, that are discussed in Part I. A new section, which is devoted to emerging issues, appears in Part II. The appendices that appeared in previous reports follow in Part III.
