Environmental Review of the Proposed Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) System Project at the Chalk Point Generating Station

The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) has granted a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to Mirant Mid-Atlantic, LLC. (Mirant) to install air pollution control systems at the Chalk Point Generating Station in Prince George's County, Maryland. The proposed project consists of installing and operating a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and sorbent injection pollution control systems on Unit 1 at Chalk Point designed to reduce emissions to comply with Maryland's Healthy Air Act (HAA) enacted in 2006.
