A modified assay for the estimation of antidiuretic substance in urine is presented. Alcohol anesthesia, prepubic cystotomy for bladder catheterization, and jugular rein catheterization are done in preparation of the animal. Maintenance of anesthesia is accom¬plished by intraveneous administration of alcohol with electrolyte solution. Observations of the limitations involved and running of unknowns in triplicate along with periodic injections of known con¬centrations of antidiuretic substance to insure the animal is within the limits of the linear relation quoted makes possible a relatively accurate bio-assay technic for antidiuretic substance in urine
