The Transient Response of Cascaded Butterworth Filters

The impulse and step responses for cascaded, three or five pole Butterworth filters have been calculated on Iliac with an accuracy of three or more decimals. In this paper the dependence of the calculated step response upon the number of cascaded filtersλ2is studied, both with no phase correction and with complete phase correction, with λ2 in the range from 4 to 512.
