The heats of solution of lithium, sodium, potassium, and rubidium borohydrides in liquid ammonia at -^33°C are -21.3, -9. 90,-1. 33, and -0. 6kcaJLrespec-tiyely. The heat of formation of the borohydride ion in liquid ammonia is -17. 2 kcal. From the known heats of formation of the ions and the measured heats of solution, the heats of formation of solid potassium and rubidium borohydride were found to be -55. 5 and -56.6 kcal
