On the Origin and Mechanism of Vortex Motion at the Inlet of Intakes Placed Near a Flat Surface

Occurrence of Vortex Motion at the Inlet of Intakes is traced to the effect of the free flow upon the motion in the boundary layer along the plate plats and to the generations of secondary vorticity. The flow is investigated experimentally and by preliminary theoretical analysis.
