A Light-Scattering Meter for the Determination of the Size Distribution of the Aerosol

A new light-scattering meter is described. The instrument allows the measurement of the intensity of light scattered from aerosol particles over an angular range from 2.5 to 135.degrees with respect to the direction of the incident light beam. The measurements can be made with four different wavelengths. The instrument incorporates the ability to investigate polarizing effects connected with light scattering. Some results of test measurements made in natural aerosol and latex particles are presented.
