A meteor-burst communications system has been established between Stanford, California, and Bozeman, Montana. In one typical three-day study of errors in teletype transmitted over this burst system, 73 percent of the errors occurred, in the last character of bursts of usable signal. A technique for identifying and measuring the end-of-burst errors is briefly described. Erasing-the last character of each burst and retransmitting it at the start of the next burst is suggested as one remedy for these end-of-burst errors.
