This is a discussion of some of the uses of statistics for the nonspecialist. Information on the selection of data, the analysis of data, and the comparison of different methods of statistical analysis is given. Suggestions for graphic presentations, the use of sampling, and preparation of questionnaires are given. Examples given directly pertain to Veterans Administration programs. A list of references is included for those who wish to study statistics more deeply.
