Stress Distribution in an Orthotropic Half-Plane Subjected to a Concentrated Load

Mathematical expressions are derived for the stress distribution in wood subjected to a concentrated load. The orthotropic nature of wood was taken into account in the derivation. The analysis was also used to determine the stress distribution in an orthotropic wedge subjected to a concentrated load at its vertex. (Author)
